Hey there! Thanks for taking a look at Spritely Media.
I’m James, and I own and operate Spritely, based in Denver, CO. I founded it in 2019 after many years working in digital media and continue to operate it while maintaining both full-time and project-based work.
I got my start in digital media at a startup called Associated Content in 2006, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2010. I built an editorial product for MapQuest from the ground up, won a Webby, and have also managed digital marketing and communications for Thorn, an NGO in the child-safety space.
Most recently, I launched, operated, and sold my own newsletter business.
I bring decades of experience, levity, and energy to everything I do. I look forward to meeting you!

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN — THORN
In response to the viral misinformation spreading across social media regarding child exploitation, I developed a campaign for Thorn to combat it. This required heavy research, careful documentation, and executive buy-in on a strategic creative campaign based on data. The result of this social-first campaign, utilizing an omni-channel approach, was over 1M organic impressions.
SOUNDS LOCAL
I acted as creator and executive producer for the MapQuest web series, Sounds Local, which was a Webby Honoree in 2017. I also built the series website and managed a large launch event.
CLASSIC NERD
In the summer of 2024, I sold a digital newsletter that I launched and had operated since 2019. In 2023, I dove into the newsletter full-time. It reached over 200,000 subscribers and over 20,000 followers on social media. The product generated diversified revenue through advertising and partnerships. I’m proud of the brand and over 800 pieces of content I produced for Classic Nerd.
SAFER GO-TO-MARKET
I drove all digital strategy and execution of the Safer go-to-market, a B2B product from Thorn.
Developed GTM strategy from scratch alongside a lean team of ~three people.
Gained buy-in from executives and stakeholders.
Managed freelancers and agencies to produce collateral, including conversion-optimized website, white papers, media briefs, blogs, product copy, and much more.
